Hi Everyone,

If you're reading this then it means that I've got this up and running to a point where I'm making progress. I have been a long-time fan of OLTL and in particular the character of Dorian Lord for most of her portrayer Robin Strasser's time on OLTL. I have not always been a fan of Clint's but I have admired his devotion to family. More recently when Clint returned to the canvas and played by Jerry verDorn, I was immediately impressed by the polish of this performer who seamlessly fit into the recast role. But more than that, I was was enamored with his sexy chemistry with Robin Strasser's Dorian. I was in the mood for a good ol' fashion romance, especially since my favorite diva had just had her heart broken by David Vickers, who jilted her at the altar. I wanted to see Dorian with a real man, who would be protective of her and make her feel loved, wanted and needed. As of this date, we have yet to see where it all leads, but I am intrigued enough with the Diva and the Cowboy and the story possibilities, to have created this board.

I'm relatively new to OLTL, I've only been watching since 2003, but by far my favorite character is Robin Strasser's Dorian Lord. I became a huge fan of Robin during her appearances on Passions and I followed her back to OLTL. I'm very much liking the possiblities for the pairing of Dorian and Clint, and I'm loving Mr. verDorn's portrayal of the character. He and Ms. Strasser seem to have incredible chemistry. And this is the reason why I was so excited when Cheryl came up with this new board. Dorian needs a new man...a REAL man to make her feel special and treat her like a lady, so I'm hoping Clint is the man for the job.

I'm just loving these two. I'm a longtime fan I tend to tune in and out. I have no clue what went on that last time RS was off the show so my history is shaky. Back in the day I enjoyed Clint and Viki but the chemistry between Robin and Jerry is so good I can't stand the thought of not getting a Dorian and Clint story. She's just fantastic. I love her good, I love her bad, and everything in between. Jerry is awesome and I've fallen back in love with his Clint Buchanan.

I have adored the chemistry between Clint and Dorian since he opened the door to her at Llanfair. I loved when he put her out! And that scene when she mockingly begged entrance and he threatened to put her out with the trash...was just pure magic.

I am so glad OLTL has decided to explore these two. They're wonderful! They seem to have made a certain connection. I'm really looking forward to more. Dorian needs to be appreciated and by man as opposed to the boy she was with. It's about freaking time some woman with a brain realized what a catch Clint Buchanan is.

I too noticed the immediate chemistry as soon as Clint opened the Llanfair door to a manic Dorian who had just been jilted by David. I have been watching the two ever since and decided, "Hey, whatever happens, I'm going to enjoy the ride." With that in mind about two weeks ago an idea popped in my head to just put something up to have a little fun with. So, you're looking at it. I want this to be a fun place where people can feel free to post whatever's on their minds. Feel free to ask me questions about Clint and/or Dorian's history. If I don't know, I'm resourceful enough to find it out for you. Happy posting!

Cheryl, you totally ROCK! There is no end to your talents!

For anyone who doesn't know me (is there anyone? I have a BIG mouth :rolleyes: ) I've been watching the show for as long as I remember. Missed chunks here & there when work required me to be on the road in & out of the country. If there's any doubt why I watch, just check out my screen name. Yeah, I'm all about Robin and Dorian has always been my favorite character (along with Carla Hall, back when Ellen Holly was on the show).

The only other soap I have watched with any regularity in the last 10 years is GL, where I first encountered JvD as Ross. I liked him a lot, but have to say they wasted him, as he was mostly on the back burner during the time I watched that show. What a lovely surprise it was to get him as Clint! He is WONDERFUL! And the chemistry Jerry & Robin have together just jumped off the screen from the moment he opened the door of Llanfair to a screaming, freshly-jilted, but still fighting Dorian. I LOVE these two together. As actors they are evenly matched and it's a pleasure to watch them work together. And as characters, they have a rich, complicated, compelling history that makes me wonder what's next.

Whatever it is, I know it will be good.

Yeah you do! It's all good. Since you posted it made me think of something I should mention for posters who may be familiar with me as well. Despite my long history with Dorian, it's my objective here to maintain a neutral stance with posts on this board (i.e. I will refrain from showing an obvious bias toward Dorian moreso than Clint in posts about the two of them) I will leave that to others. I will cheer both Jerry and Robin and Dorian and Clint. If I backslide, call me on it.
I want opinions and varied points of view. What is there to discuss if we all agree? I see myself as a facilitator of discussion.

Here's how you post a banner that will appear each time you post, if you'd like:

Go to the My Controls panel that's just under the picture scroll at the top of the page.

Inside the control panel there is a left column with selections. Find Edit Signature.

Click on it. In the space provided, type img inside brackets [ ] then the webaddress or URL for the image followed by /img inside brackets; the webaddress MUST be encased by the img brackets. You will have to save it, I believe. You're done!

In the multimedia forum, I have a few board banners. But here's one you might like:

I can't stand the thought of Clint back with Viki that woman has been treating him like a doormat for oh I don't know like 20 some years! I just luv him, he does little or no wrong in my eyes...nuff said! ;)

Seriously though I love Dorian too. I would die to look like her. I'm one of those people who can love opposing characters. But the past few years since Dorian has been given her "Cramer Woman" I've grown even more fond of her. They give her a certain vunerability and yet keep her a lioness. I've always liked that about her.

Now this little duo had me shaking my head at first but you know if you compare histories Clint would be MUCH better off with Dorian as opposed to Viki. bleck--can I say that?

We all seem to have loved that scene. It's what hooked me on them as a pairing and really has a lot to do with me putting this board up. After that show, I could see them together as a true couple.

Hi... long time OLTL watcher here... off and on at some points (like when Robin left the show, I left too... thank goodness she came back!)
I had my doubts about this site when you first started it up... yes, I've been lurking... ha ha... I admit that I am a diehard DnD fan and in the back of my little mind, they are getting back together... ha ha
I've been reading your CnD fan fic and you've all got me liking Clint and Dorian together now... LOVE the fanfic! I still want to see DnD together, but heck... Dorian should be able to enjoy herself with Clint until David wins her back (and I have a feeling that is going to be a long while!)
I want to play around with some fan fic, but I'm afraid I won't be as good as you guys are... so we'll see if I post anything... ha ha
I'm going to NY in May and was planning on hanging out at the OLTL studios for pictures... but, alas... I just found out that the week I am there, the studio is closed for vacation... just my luck! Oh well, I'm going back in August for the fan club stuff... anyone else going?
OK... enough about me... really enjoying OLTL this week... Dorian has been in EVERY episode so far! amazing!

Hey Dramaqueen, welcome and thank you for your honesty. We know how you are feeling when it comes to David. No problem. Still, we are loving our Dorian and Clint. It's good that you can enjoy our couple, ahem, while you wait for that reunion :P

Yeah, Dorian ain't gonna back down. I was a DnD diehard, too. But I have fallen in love with Dorian and Clint and I see them more as equals, like Dorian said the other day. It's not just about age, but maturity in behavior and respect. That's how I am seeing them and why I am loving it. It's how I intend to write them.

Oh please don't be concerned about any of that. I enjoy reading when the fan fic writers handle the characters with care and regard. I can sincerely appreciate that essence represented in a story.

I've already started posting but am just now getting around to introducing myself.

I've been a soap fan for years and have watch OL off-and-on since Karen Woleck was on the canvas. I began tuning in again to the show when I read that JvD was cut from GL and was joining the cast as Clint. I admit it. It was mostly out of curiousity. I couldn't imagine the actor who so effortlessly played Ross (a character I dearly loved) suddenly morphing into a bigger-than-life Buchanan man. It was such a change of pace . . . one that I could relate to. At the same time JvD was going from Gl to OL, I was transtioning from job I held for 20+ years to a new position at another company. I had to learn the ropes of a new corporate environment and develop a rapport with my inherited staff all while figuring out where the ladies room was, LOL. It was kind of cool knowing that, in large measure, Jerry was dealing with the same kind of change. Anyway . .

Why I doubted JvD's ability is beyond me. As my name suggests, I think he rocks! He pulled off the transition seamlessly, immediately proving that he was the right choice for the role. (And, since I've never been known for modesty, so did I!) JvD brings a new and exciting element to the OLTL table and I'm eating it up!

On a side note . . . I've always been a fan of Robin's and was really impressed when she spoke so openly a few years back about her travails with menapause. I think more women should be comfortable discussing age-related issues. And despite her no longer being a spring chicken, I think she's one of the finest performers on the show. She can convey so much by doing so little, I'm in awe.

I've only seen a smattering of her with David and I understand why some fans enjoyed that relationship but if I had to choose which of her previous loves most enthralled me it is, hands down, her marriage to Herb Callison. Anthony and Robin had fabulous chemistry and I see a similar dynamic with Jerry. I don't quite believe that they'll end up the love match of the century but anything that gives these two outstanding actors screen time works for me.

Whew. Didn't plan on rambling on as I did. . . . Oh, well. Guess everyone might as well get used to it. I can be VERY long-winded when I get in a groove, as I'm sure some of you have already noticed :D

Ahem, I have a message board? :D Just to let you know you're amongst those who like to gab so you're in good company. You are not the first to question JvD's transformation from attorney Ross to a cowboy Clint. I remember reading that soap columnist Mimi Torchin questioned it as it transpired. When I saw him, it was a matter of would he fit into the role that was long held by Clint Ritchie. The first scene at the Buchanan Lodge was a little strange but after that, I really took to him, especially when I saw him with Robin. You may want to check out past topics in the Board Annoucements to find out about such things, as custom made avatars. In the "Getting to Know You," section, well--tell us about yourself, if you'd like.

The "Discussion" forum is character and actor-related. It has the official websites of JvD and RS listed under their respective sections. The most popular section in this area is the "Diva and Cowboy" folder. We haven't been given much in a storyline with Dorian and Clint but we are enthusiastic posters, nonetheless. We saw something with these two characters and we aren't letting go of it. kiss5.jpg To that end, we have started the "Lady Stetson" compaign. Look under this pinned topic in the "Diva Cowboy" folder.

In the "Other" forum, we got a lot of fun stuff: the latest pics in the mags, fan fiction, links to a video site about Dorian, and spoilers.

I developed this fan site because I wanted people to get a lot of enjoyment out of their on-line experience. It represents Clint and Dorian, so I most definitely wanted it to be like the Diva and Cowboy---loads of FUN!
