At LaBoulaie, mid-morning

Viki: I know about you and Clint... you... from before... when you...

Dorian: What?

Viki: When you were in-volved.

Dorian: You mean when I first came to Llanveiw and you....

Viki (cuts): No, no, no Dorian, that's not what I mean!

Dorian: Then what do you mean Viki?!

Viki: I know about the one night stand you and Clint had years ago that left you pregnant with his child!

Dorian gasps with a look of shock.

Viki: Dorian, are you OK? Dorian?

Dorian: Who told you that?

Viki: Does it matter if it is the truth?

Dorian (screams): Who TOLD you?

Viki: It does not matter. (Sighs) What does matter is that your son is, your son is not dead, Dorian!

Dorian (stands): My son is DEAD!

Viki: Dorian, I'm trying to tell you...

Dorian (interrupts, grabs her): You get out of my house! GET OUT! Leave!

Viki (snatches her arm from Dorian's grasp): No! No! NO! (Stops.) I will not be manhandled by you Dorian! You have lied for all these years and hid the truth from Clint! He deserves to know the truth!

Dorian: That's what this is about! (laughs) I should have known! You're jealous aren't you?

Viki: Jealous?

Dorian: You came over here today. You saw how Clint and I are together--the warmth, tenderness and PASSION we share. Well it's always been like that between us Viki! We share a passion that you can only dream of!

Viki: Clint could never live with a woman who lies to him! You have proven yourself to be nothing but an unrepentent and vicious liar! The more lives you ruin, the better! You are bitter and hateful!

Dorian: That's right! Queen Victoria from on high has never lied to him! Are you forgetting Sloan!

Viki (speaks through gritted teeth): I will NEVER forget him! I loved him Dorian!

Dorian: Of course you did! You left Clint and deserted your family for him. I would hope it was more than a friendship after all you married the man after you ruined Clint's life.

Viki: And you lied to Clint about giving birth to his child! You are STILL lying to him!

Dorian: Then you are no better than I am. You want to destroy us because you know he will never leave my arms for your COLD, BLACK heart!

Viki: Will you listen to yourself? You are filled with such evil and contempt for me that you can not even stop long enough to realize what I am saying to you. Dorian your son is alive!

Dorian slaps her.

Viki (holds her cheek): You can get angry with me and you can threaten to harm me but I am holding my ground! I am NOT leaving until I say what I came here to tell you! (Dorian grabs her arm and Viki pulls it away from her) I am not finished!

Dorian: Mitch. Was it Mitch?

Viki: Mitch? (looks confused.)

Dorian: He lied to me. It was all a LIE! (Is really upset) Mitch told me that my son was alive!

Viki: What?

Dorian: Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about!

Viki: Dorian-- I do not. I promise I do not…

Dorian (gulps): I was at a soiree in Paris. (wipes brow, takes a deep breath) I had no money. Drake Farraday...

Viki: You left Llanview with him after Mel died, right?

Dorian: Yes. I was vulnerable. He robbed me of millions.

Viki: You were broke.

Dorian: Mitch helped me out of a difficult situation.

Viki: What kind of difficult situation?

Dorian: It doesn't matter. But he lied to me about .... I wanted to believe him.

Viki (frowns): You married him, Dorian! You married a man who nearly raped your daughter!

Dorian: I did what I had to do Viki!

Viki: Were not you surprised to even see that he was alive? Dorian you went to prison for killing him!

Dorian: Thank you for informing me WHY I was in prison!

Viki: I am sorry. I did not mean to be insensitive.

Dorian: Of course I was , I was shocked, shocked to see that he was alive and standing there before me in Europe of all places! I thought he was dead!

Viki: We all did.

Dorian: More than once when we were married, I wished death upon him.

Viki: Can I tell you something, Dorian? I wanted him to die and I wanted it to be at my hands. He raped me. I had a child from him and did not know it.

Dorian: Neither did Clint. (long pause) Once the shock of it wore off, Mitch told me of his plans to return to the States. He eventually showed me medical records stolen from Statesville that seemed to indicate my baby had survived and was still alive. I know now that it was fabricated.

Viki: Fabricated? No.

Dorian: I thought, I thought I could get at the truth from the inside, by getting close to him. I had lost everything... Mel, money. Cassie was in a mental institution. I had to pursuit it!

Viki: You wanted to believe your child was alive. You married that evil man Mitch Laurence to find out the truth.

Dorian: Yes, I had to know if it were possible. Mitch was alive and I soon learned Victor was too.

Viki: Father. You know he died before I could even see him? (Gets emotional) I wanted to confront him about all the things he had done to me! How he had set out to destroy my life all the while claiming that he loved me!

Dorian: I suppose in some sick twisted way he must have.

Viki: Yeah well I do not understand it. And I have never really been able to deal with what it cost me.

Dorian: I had hoped-- (she sits down, visibly shaken. Viki sits beside her.) You believed Mitch, too.

Viki (leans close to her and puts an arm around her): No. Mitch never told me about your child.

Dorian: Then why are you... How did you?

Viki: Dorian, I believe that your son is alive because he is here in Llanview.

Dorian looks stunned.

Buchanan Enterprises

Kevin is on the phone with Cord.

Kevin: Miles Laurence? Dad wanted you to handle it? No, no he didn’t say anything to me about it. He probably thought, well you know with everything going on… with... (Kevin stops mid-sentence at the sight of Duke in front of him.) Cord. Nevermind. I gotta go. It’s Duke. We’ve found him. Call ya back. (Hangs up.)

Duke: Dad.

Kevin moves from behind his desk and he hugs his son. They remain in embrace for awhile. Kevin says, “I was worried about you. We all were.”

Duke: I handled things all wrong. What can I say? I'm a coward.

Kevin: You're here now and that's all that matters. You are my son. No matter what happens, I see that now clearer than ever.

Duke: How can you be so understanding? I hate myself for what I’ve done to you and Kelly.

Kevin: You are, will be a father and some day you’ll understand. Where there is love, a father should always find a way to forgive a son.

Duke: I don't deserve it. (looks away.)

Kevin: Duke we can get through this son. I just need you to hang in there, not disappear on us again.

Duke: Dad don't you see how impossible this is? (Moves away from him.) I came back to tell you that what happened with Kelly was mostly my fault.

Kevin: That's not the way Kelly tells it. She blames herself. I kind of think that we all are to blame to some degree.

Duke: You're not.

Kevin: I'd argue that. I wasn't there for her at a time when she needed me to be supportive of her.

Duke: Dad that's not it. I got carried away, maybe I was just, I don’t know, trying to prove something.

Kevin: You lost me there, trying to prove something.... What's been troubling you son?

Duke: Dad, I (pauses for a while) I, I, I don't know what to say.

The phone rings and interrupts them.

Kevin: I had some tests, done. Just a minute, I'm expecting an important call. (He answers. Listens) Yeah, right. Thank you. (Sighs. Hangs up.)

Duke: You said tests?

Kevin: That was news from the hospital. They have the results from a paternity test.

Duke: Kelly's baby?

Kevin: C'mon. I promised Kelly we'd find out the news together when the call came in. The doctor agreed to call us and tell us the results in person.

Duke: So I might not be the father?

Kevin: I don't know son. That's what we're going to find out.

Kevin and Duke leave.

This is moving great! I love it. Those words between Dorian and Viki are just so very Dorian and Viki! Great job!

And I so hope that baby is Kevin's. If only...........

But I'm worried about the aftermath. Nashby and all.

The baby will be Kevin's. There is soon to be a tragedy, though that befalls the a family. It will change direction for a few characters.

OK, am happy that everything is working out for Kelly and Kevin, but you have me worried... Tragedy??? You're not going to hurt Nash again are you??? Or Clint??? God I wish the writers for ABC would use some of your material! :P Then I might actually watch all of it!!! Instead of fastforwarding through like the entire episode! ;)

I am undecided about this particular tragedy but let's just say it's on the table for now. It could change as I write the next few chapters. It would be something difficult for me to write, really because I would be saddened by it.
