Title: Jessica Buchanan

AS always with these catch up conversations the writers were sending messages.....

First questioning him about Mom was a-okay. She should have. But she dropped it when he said so and I appreciated that. Good daughter. What did the actors all re-iterate about their "adult children"? Yeah this one gets a nod.

I WISH she would be straight with ANYBODY about her feelings. Clint like so many others offered her that chance today and she continues her...life is rosy with me and Antonio routine. I caught the look on her face when he told her to "do one better" and make it work with Antonio. Jerry really portrayed the fact that he could see her turmoil yet respected her right to privacy as much as he wanted it for his own personal life. I hate when soaps have these unrealistic (gory) conversations about that suff. Come on. This was quite real.

Jessica is still confused. She's a good Mommy and would do anything for Jamie. She won't tell Antonio about her misgivings and it troubled her father. Nash is still a huge factor for her without her admitting to it. Her father's confusion of why it mattered reminded us that this big love affair is still totally unknown to everyone but Nashica.

Clint and Kevin/Joey was a sweet story and I was worried they'd *forget* and have it be about him adopting Jessica. She was 20 it was no biggie as he told her.

And that ending? hearts1.gif Jessica acknowleged her Dad had every right to tell Viki the truth and goodness knows she's not good at handling the truth. And her "Your still my hero." Was so sweet.

Jessica did not take him to task. She did not disrespect him. The family will NOT turn away from him and make him grovel and plead for forgiveness because Clint chose Dorian. Viki chose Sloan and that was accepted. People change, they move on. That's what Clint did with Dorian and that will reflect with ALL of his family members. Life marches on. Clint and Dorian's relationship will bring conflict to the canvas. That's what makes it a good story. As opposed to oh yeah everybody is happy Mom gets her way. Zzzzzz!

Now if there actually are changes in writing it's certainly being nuanced that Clint and Dorian have staying power. A kiss turns into a trip to the shower and Jessica defending her Mother turns into a Daddy is right and he's my hero moment. "You told the truth and Mom can't take it." :P

Hmm yeah after todays show I will have to rethink Jessica, shes been annoying me lately but today I really liked her. She needs more scenes with Clint!!! And less with Antonio (I'm well aware he's her husband  ) We ned her with the family! I think it would be interesting to have some scenes with her Dorian and Clint together. I think that it would create some major conflict and interesting s/l's.

You know what I thought was appealing and downright sexy? That Clint told Jessica it was his private business and he didn't want to discuss it with her. I like a man who keeps his business in check and makes your business private and something special that involves just the two of you. No one can touch that because they don't know what they are talking about. And Dorian with Clint and Clint with Dorian will be different than they are with other people. I just had to say that because I found it extremely appealing. Clint is holding firm to his decision and not waivering about his choice even at hearing from his daughter that Viki is upset.

It was really great to see Clint with his "yellow rose," and to hear her say that he is her hero. Clint looked concerned about her. He knows that she isn't happy and is unsure about Jamie because of her feelings for Nash. I think he and Nash are going to have a chat.

When I saw this subject line I thought, oh good let's talk about how Jessica is driving us crazy with her indecision and trying to act like everything is wonderful with Antonio. (Val, I didn't even notice the subject line says "Buchanan" until I started this response.) I agree will all of you that Jessica's scenes with Clint today were wonderful. I'm happy too that he said his business was private. But I'm disappointed that Jessica couldn't confide in her dad, because I really believe he would have kept the bad news to himself. Unfortunately, the last thing you want to do is admit to a parent that your marriage isn't great.

Ginny--

I was hoping too. It sure looks like she continues to keep the truth even from herself for a while more. Gosh WE can see she's lying all around how come she can't figure it out?

I made that title because IMHO that will be her name again I mean if she keeps to her current course. And of course she should never change it anyway! :D

Cheryl I agree. It was natural for Jessica to be asking about it. But the way he closed the subject was sweet yet brokered no debate on the issue. That was good. He's made his decision. He's a manly man. That's that. Did you catch him kind of stomp his foot when she brought up the subject? It was subtle but as that first scene ended he was fuming she even dared bring it up. hearts1.gif

Ooooh good eye Val. I didn't pick up on that the first time, I had to go back just to see. That was pretty cute. Then again just about everything about Clint is cute.

I didn't get to watch the show until late last night.

Yeah, Clint sort of stomped his foot at Jessica's accusation, but I think he was also taken by surprise as he was rocking back on his feet. But I like that she came to talk to him about it, and I really enjoyed their whole conversation. I'm now sort of interested in seeing Natalie's reaction to her father the next time she sees him. ;)

Clint has made his decision and he's sticking to it. I also loved that he wouldn't get into it with Jessica, that it was his private life, and he didn't owe an explanation to anyone, even (and especially) his daughter. He once told Dorian that he didn't give a damn what other people thought.

It also appears that he's tired of the "poor Viki" routine. Some on other boards think he's "blaming" Viki - he's not blaming anyone, he told Jessica how it appeared to him and he decided the way he wanted to. I'm glad the writers are keeping this about 3 separate characters with their own pov's. There is more to Clint than just being Viki's shadow.

I'm also glad that Jess recognized that her parents are both mature individuals and her father was just being honest (which is what Jess is personally having trouble with). It's Viki's own fault that she didn't speak up when she had the chance. What's really sad is that Clint thought Viki was so dis-interested in him that she might end up regretting getting back together with him, so Clint had to "protect" her from making that mistake.

The hero bit was really sweet - especially that he seemed slightly embarassed about it.
