Description: Chapter 8

Meags - June 7, 2007 01:22 AM (GMT)
I finally got around to typing this up. It took me forever, and don't expect another chapter anytime soon!

Chapter 8

Adrianna is waiting outside of Rex’s apartment door, for him to show up. She is pacing back and forth while thinking about her latest exchange with her mother.

“Hi,” she says. “What’s the prognosis for Blair? I’m guessing it’s not good judging by the look on your face.”

“Ah, n…no.” she rather coughs. “No it’s not good… not good at all. But I’m glad you’re here. Honey, if you would just give me a chance to talk to you, maybe, just maybe we could clear up some of these misunderstandings.” She looks so hopeful that Adrianna almost feels bad about what she says next… almost “There are no misunderstandings to, ah, ‘clear up’ and there is definitely nothing left to say. I was willing to forgive you once but after what I saw I realized that you really don’t deserve it. Now if you don’t mind I came here to see Blair, so if you would leave that would be great.”

Dorian sighs as she gets up. “I should go check on Starr and Jack anyways.” She starts to walk away, when she gets to the door she turns around one last time to say; “And Adrianna, I’m not going to give up on us.” Adrianna just rolls her eyes and plops down next to Blair to tell her all about Rex and what her mother has done now…

Now sitting her mind goes back even further to the other night with her mother and Clint

Adrianna pops her head in the door and looks around. When she sees them she says “OH MY GOD!” Clint immediately puts Dorian back down and she cinches her bathrobe together at the top. Adrianna continues with “I thought that HE hated you! Oh well I guess I came at the wrong time to talk, I’m guessing you’ve been too busy to even check your messages. And I thought you’d changed, you never really wanted me back in your life only Clint.”

At this Clint jumps in to defend Dorian. “Now see here little missy,” Adrianna starts at him using that term “I’m not…” but he cuts her off “I don’t care what your mother has done to you, nothing and I mean NOTHING gives you the right to talk to her like that. Adrianna, she’s your mother!”

“Wow, never thought I’d hear you defend her ever again, not after what SHE did to me.” Adrianna practically spits at her mother, “You know I came over here to make-up but I can see that you have more important things to do.”

“Adriannaaaaaa, please!” she pleads, “don’t leave like this! I really want to talk to you! I’m sorry if you think that I didn’t listen to your message because I’m mad at you, I’m not!” Dorian practically yells.

Clint looks at Adrianna with a somewhat disgusted look on his face, and then he turns to Dorian and says, “Dorian, let her go. She just needs to blow off some steam… believe me! I know the look, I created the look.”

Maybe Rex was right, maybe this hatred for her mother was consuming her life. But what could she do? It certainly wasn’t just going to go away, there was too much hurt there for that to happen. And so far all her schemes had backfired, after all her mother still got Clint back.

Standing up she realizes what she must do. Quickly she leaves the apartment, and heads in the direction of Llanview airport…

Entering the Palace Dorian heads towards the dinning room. She notices the host and stops him to say hi. “Bonjour Philippe. Comment-ça va?”

“Ah bonjour Mme. Lord. Ça va bien. How can I help you this evening?

“I am meeting Mr. Buchanan here for dinner. He wouldn’t happen to be here yet, would he?”

“I assume you are inquiring of M. Clint Buchanan oui?” He gives her a knowing glance and she remembers that he was here that night she and Clint had drinks and almost… “He is in the bar Madame,” he interrupts her thoughts. “You could take a seat if you’d like and I can retrieve M. Buchanan for you?”

“No, no, no Philippe, that won’t be necessary, I’ll fetch him myself.”

“Entre, s’il vous plaît, excuse moi.” And Philippe takes his leave to seat another couple that has just arrived.

Dorian heads over to the bar area. When she gets there what she sees causes her to stop short…

Clint and David are sitting next to each other, and as if this wasn’t going to be uncomfortable enough VIKI! Of all people was walking over at the same time. This was going to be awkward.

“Well hello my love.” Both Clint and David turn at the sound of her o so familiar voice, thinking she is talking to each of them respectively. Viki seeing this gets an little sneer on her face. She is not at all happy with the hold Dorian seems to have over these men, and all men in general.

Dorian of course notices the look on Viki’s face right away. That only causes her to smile bigger. David realizing that it wasn’t him Dorian was referring to, and that it was in fact Clint turns around with a sheepish look on his face, only to come face to face with Viki. It’s all he can do to say “Hi Viki, how long have you been standing here?”

“Long enough.” Dorian says through a smile.

“David!” Viki say through gritted teeth, “If you don’t mind, I’d like to speak to you… in private!” Rolling her eyes she turns and stomps away.

“Ahem, Dorian, Clint.” David manages a curt nod as he scurries off after Viki.

“After they are out of site and earshot, Dorian and Clint look at each other with quizzical expressions. It’s Dorian who breaks the awkward silence after that odd sight. “You don’t think…”

“NO!” they both answer her question at the same time. Clint shakes his head at her, “No can’t be…”

Jessica and Nash have been talking in her suite for close to two hours now. When Clint saw him at the door, Nash thought for sure that, that was and bad thing. But clint seemed tired and strained and willing to try anything to help his troubled daughter. So he let Nash walk right in. when Jessica saw him she ran right to him and into his open arms and he held her for what seemed like an eternity. She was so obviously confused. She just needed someone to talk to who understood the situation. That’s where he came in.

“Oh Nash this is all so confusing. Oh my god! The plane! If I’m going to catch that plane I have to get moving. It’s a god thing I’m already packed. I don’t know how you convinced me to go but I’m going.” She smiles weakly at him.

“yes, well I can be very persuasive when I want to be.” He winks at her and extends his arm. “Now, let’s get going, you’ve got a plane to catch and I have a beautiful little girl I need to spend some time with!”

“Hey wait a minute!” She has that idea look on her face which causes Nash to groan and then reply, “Uh oh.”

“No uh oh! This is a good idea, why don’t you and Bree come with me?! It would be so much fun and it would mean a lot to me. Besides I already have the ticket.”

She seems so hopeful that he just can’t bring himself to turn her down. “All right let’s go get our daughter and catch that plane!”

Dorian and Clint are sitting and eating their dinner.

“you can’t think that they were, are, on a date… do you?” Dorian picks at her salad while continuing to stare at Clint.

“Darlin’ I have no idea. But for Viki’s sake I hope not. But I think she’s smarter then that. It’s not like she’s naïve like Tina or…” he immediately regrets what he just said, or almost said.

“ME!” she practically screams at him “You think I’m naive? Stupid?! SUPERFICIAL?!”

With every word her voice gets louder and Clint can tell he’ hit a nerve. He tries to calm her down. “Come on Dorian, you know that’s not what I meant. It came out wrong. And for goodness sakes, you are making a scene.”

“No Clint I think you meant everything you said.” She lowers her voice a little, although she’s getting angrier by the minute and defensive. As she throws her napkin down and starts to get up Clint grabs her wrist.

“Now Dorian, don’t you think that you are being just a little bit over dramatic? You are reading way too much into what I said.”

“Let. Go. Of. Me.” Came her reply through gritted teeth. He releases his grip and she grabs her purse.

Not one to leave without having the last word, she leans in close and says in a near whisper, “You and I both know what you meant.”

With that she turns on her heel and leaves.

Clint sighs “Dammit Dorian.” He swears with feeling. Clint throws his napkin down and storms off as well.

Natalie and Rex arrive at the hospital and she is shaking. Rex notices and asks her “Are you ready to do this?”

“Yes Rex. I’m ready to go see him. Do you know if he’s conscious yet? Oh god, does he look the same?”

“No Natty, he’s not conscious right now, that much I know for sure. But as for if he looks the same,” Rex shrugs. “Only the doctors know that much. No one else has seen him without bandages all over his face. Do you need me to come in with you for, you know, like support or something?” He raises his eyebrows in question.

“Yes,” she blurts out nervously “I mean, I might need more than moral support… you know… I may need some physical support as well.” She smiles half-heartedly. It is evident that she is nervous about this. ‘What is this accident has changed him.’ She can’t help but wonder. She then voices her concern to Rex. “What if he’s changed? What if this accident leaves him with some sort of mental trauma and he’s not the same man I love anymore? What if he’s become… someone else?”

She looks worried and upset and Rex has no idea how to comfort her or quell her fears. So he says the only thing he can say, “Well figure all that out later, when he’s better. Right now I think he might just need you by his bedside.”

Ugh! So hating Adriana. Just reminds me what I had to watch for months with stalkerilla1.gif I have to smile at Adriana recalling 52607.gif ;they are a frisky duo. Wonder how much of what you have written will look like what we are soon to see on our screens with david.gif and purple.jpg and doragain.gif and clint.gig 's reaction to them. Good that you have Nash/Jess/Bree together.

Thanks for giving me another chapter. It's fun to read as you have a Dorian bias like I do... so ALL the men love Dorian. That a girl!

Meags - June 8, 2007 12:15 AM (GMT)
How could we not be biased to Dorian ;) , the only thing she's not is pure good ( and how would that even be remotely interesting! Bad girls kick ass!)

I don't know how similar it will be. I can only say that what i wrote was written... god must be over a month maybe two ago! So it should be interesting, although didn't write any scenes (other than that one) with the four of them together yet. There is still some other stuff being found out.

I did however write a tiny little short fic, it's just a different take on the liver transplant s/l. actually not so much really, well a little, mostly it just has more C-Lo!

And what man wouldn't love her? lol

Hey, when do YOU plan on putting out another chapter? huh? better be soon girl! Or I my self just might kick some ass. wink.gif

 I'm rereading the chapters right now and jotting down notes to tie ups loose ends. I'll probably have another one out soon. You going to post your short story on the liver transplant? I'd love to read it, especially since it has more C-Lo. image22.jpg :D I'm hoping they are on tomorrow even though they weren't in the previews.

Yeah I will try to post it, who knows when though, did I mention that I HATE typing? lol but yeah, this story is more than a little far fetched and it was getting too long for my tastes so it's like a little choppy at one or two parts, but hey you know.
