OLTL Recognition of 10,000 Episodes!
I decided to pin a topic for anything related to recognition of the 10,000 episodes of OLTL. So if you run across an article about Asa's death, pictures, the return of any characters, etc., go ahead and post it here. Any
episode discussion related to the shows that air the week of Aug. 13th can be posted here, too. If you forget, it's not a big deal.

"I'm the one who killed him." Who is Dorian talking about?
Nathan looks fine. And by "fine" I mean really great.

Gosh, not sure who she is talking about. Could be Mitch, Victor, Ben? These are characters who died in her presence or who she wanted to kill. I don't think she is talking about Spencer but some will likely jump to that conclusion.

The likely conclusion is that she's talking about Asa, since he most recently died - and I'm sure at some point Asa told Clint that Clint could date Dorian "over my dead body." Yeah, that would make it all about Dorian.
I kind of thought she was talking about Victor, since both she and Viki were close to him. I thought Ben died in Switzerland. I wasn't watching when he died - did they bring him back to Llanview? Is Mitch dead? If so, how did he die (this time)?

Hey that's an interesting take on that scene and one I didn't think of. Actually, it makes a lot of sense since that's what the promo was about anyway.

Let's see how much of this I can answer. First the Ben part. Antonio shot Ben and he went into a coma. Viki had heart problems and needed a transplant. Dorian saw that Ben was a match. Dorian visited Ben and talked with him about Viki. After she left, he died. Viki got the heart.
Let's see, Mitch. I know he died on the Waterfront. Jessica eventually recalled hitting him with a pipe on the docks. I think it was in self defense. Jessica made a confession to Bo. She wasn't prosecuted. It was all swept under the carpet and marked as unsolved. There's a lot of stuff with Mitch and his return. You can read about it here:

OLTL: ASA Dies
After years of battling a weak heart, Asa died this week on OLTL. But as Llanviewers past and present gather to honor the Buchanan patriarch in the shows' 9,999th and 10,000th episodes, Executive Producer Frank Valentino describes it as more of a celebration than a string of somber funeral scenes. There are some wonderful flashbacks and some truly amazing performances in these shows," he praises. "They celebrate the life of Asa Buchanan and are heartbreaking, touching and funny.
"It's always a difficult decision to say good-bye to someone so important to the show," continues Valentino. "Using the milestone achievement of episode 10,000 shows fans just how important the legacy of Asa Buchanan is to the show and that legacy will continue with the future generations of Buchanans."
"I thought it was a very elegant way to say good-bye to Phil [Carey, who exited OLTL in April] and to Asa," adds Patricia Elliott, who plays Asa's 13th wife, Renee. "The scenes are simple and straightforward, not a lot of hysteria. He had had a fake death awhile ago, so we'd all gotten up and made these orations-- now, the orations are all off-camera and it's just about family. The whole thing is very moving."
Kevin, Joey and Cord return to remember their grandfather and share an emotional family reunion, while Max arrives with a surprising proposition for Blair and Alex tries to play the grieving widow. Meanwhile, Viki and Dorian end up locked in the wine cellar, and Bo has a meltdown over the passing of his "Pa."
"After we find out Asa passed away, [Bo] goes on a bender, and he and Clint go out," previews Jerry verDorn (Clint). "[Robert S. Wood, Bo] and I have some very nice scenes... It was the first real emotional stuff I had to do with my [on-screen] little brother. The boy can act!"
Meanwhile, two will get their hands on the shocking information that David Vickers is the real Buchanan. "Let's just say that this information could not have ended up in more scheming hands," teases Valentini.

A couple of comments about the 10,000th episode anniversary party: (1) I love that Eddie Alderson is wearing a T-shirt and didn't have to change for the photo; (2) whoever was in charge of the cake must have had a very limited budget. It's ugly and looks worse than something I could get at the local grocery store. They should have gotten one of those cakes covered in fondant made to look like some Llanview building.
