Title: Dorian and Langston
cher62 - August 19, 2007 01:10 PM (GMT)
Langston is my favorite of the teens. She has enough spunk to be in my mind an honorary Cramer. Plus, she thinks Dorian is cool so the girl's got smarts. So, it grabbed my attention in a major way when Dorian commented to Blair that it seemed as though Langston was neglected and she was worried about her. I will do cartwheels, stand on my head and run around in circles if Carlivati takes advantage of the chemistry between Strasser and Brittany Underwood (Langston) and gives us a story. It is cross generational and points out another dimension to Dorian that isn't acknowledged too often--she has deep compassion for those who can't defend themselves.

Soap Central posted an audition script for a case worker with Child Protective Services. Langston has apparently been living on her own as minor for at least a year and it was reported to the agency. Langston becomes very upset and refuses to go with the case worker after it's indicated she's a ward of the state.

Ooo things may get interesting if Dorian gets involved. I would like to see that happen.

doragain.gif langson1 So far, this is the story that I am looking forward to the most. I have long said that Dorian is a multi-faceted character. Dorian has the need to be a mother; it is rejected mostly by the other Cramer women whereas Langston seems to need a mother. In other words, they need each other.

Is Dorian supposed to find out the truth before Brittany spills it?

I think so. It looks like Dorian will find out end of this week or beginning of next, because she confronts Langston about it, and Langston is supposed to admit the truth in the next week or so to Blair and Starr.
The new medianet pictures show the confrontation between Starr/Cole/Langston/Markko and the social worker & Britney as the week of Oct. 15. The actress who plays Britney has apparently decided not to commit full-time to the show (I've heard rumors she has other projects she wants to do) and her last air date is reportedly Oct. 17 - possibly the day of the confrontation. In the showfax script for the confrontation, Starr told the social worker that Langston was staying with her family. At first I thought Starr might have been making that up to help defend Langston, but it now looks like she's telling the truth, because Dorian is supposed to take Langston home with her this next week.
Now that we've seen Langston's house - it does look like her parents were well-off, though maybe not rich (like the Buchanans or Lords). I've been trying to figure out how both her parents could die and the authorities not know. The family pictures show that her parents really did help the poor around the world, so maybe they died in an accident or attack while overseas (as Langston was telling Dorian what security they have to take) and just never returned home. However, if they're as influential and involved as the family pictures appear, is there no other family or friends or organizations that would miss them and wonder where they were? If Langston really has been alone all this time, it's odd that Dorian is the first person who's concerned, and she doesn't even really know Langston.
Though it looks like the house is paid for, since Langston apparently isn't worried about mortgage payments, but wouldn't she have to pay utilities each month or the power and water would be shut off? And where does she get money to buy food?
However, I am looking forward to seeing what happens for Langston and Dorian.

I agree Em, lots of questions about how Langston was able to pull off living alone without someone noticing before now and yes, what about other relatives? I loved when Rex told Dorian that this was none of her business and she said that it was her business because she is concerned. That's my Diva. hearts1.gif Langston has been trying so hard to cover this up that it will be wonderful for her to develop this relationship with Dorian, who truly cares about her. Kudos to Brittany Livingston on her performance today, too.

After watching today's show (10.4.07), I'm curious if having Langston's mother be from Columbia will serve as a key plot point in terms of who may be relatives.

Tomorrow's scenes with langson1 doragain.gif should be great. I could see the tears welling up in Langston's eyes when Dorian revealed that she knew the truth about her parents. I am really enjoying this story. On opposite note, I was irritated by Adriana once again badmouthing her mother to Rex. I am sick of her! :ph43r:

IMO, this is the best storyline on the show. I particularly liked the way Dorian described how langson1 doesn't need to have to stress anymore about having to hide the truth and make up lies. diva12.jpg told her that she knew how it felt because of her own childhood. In just a few lines, doragain.gif painted a picture as to why she is a bitch. She had to be to survive what caused two of her sisters to land in a mental institution. BU continues to impress me as my heart broke for her character. Dorian was so strong. She told Langston she wouldn't leave her. Dorian's strength and loyalty is my favorite part of her character.

I loved that when Langston called her a bitch, Dorian didn't hesitate to agree with her. And her explanation was perfect. She needed that to survive. I'm enjoying this storyline and loving how many days in a row Dorian has been on. Also loved that Dorian kissed the top of Langstons' head.

This story is making great progress and is being told at the right pace. It's fascinating to me that some have forgotten how caring Dorian is as a character. She is a bitch. But she is so much more. I question if one doesn't have to be reminded of her stellar character traits in a way that one is open to viewing it. For instance, she has been caring and attentive to Clint this past year through his daughter's DID and liver cancer. It is a dimension of her character as well as her bitchiness. Again, I have to acknowledge that RC is showing that he is a OLTL fan, who is very familiar with Dorian. Anyway, I continue to look forward to this story as it unfolds.

For the last three weeks or so, this has been the best story on the show. It is packed with emotions and it involves the Cramers in a meaningful way. It delves into their past in a way that makes it easy to understand why "saving" Langston is so important to them; it is the equivalent of them saving themselves. We have Blair with her history in foster homes and Dorian with losing her parents and her issues of abandonment. It is a strong motivation. For Starr, Langston is her best friend and she was there for her with her recent troubles with Brittany; Langston has been a constant, even when Todd and Blair haven't been around and were busy with other things in their lives. The only thing I would want is for more time to be spent on the Cramer history and how it impacts the current relationships of these women. I feel that it does and having Langston around should bring that to the forefront. I want to see this dealt with in the writing.

On the 10.24 show in a scene between Blair and Dorian, Blair asked if Dorian was fighting so hard for Langston because she feels guilty that she wasn't there for Blair. Dorian replied that in part that was very much the case. I'm intrigued. I want to know more. Why is Dorian fighting so hard for Langston?

Great scenes again today on the 10.25 show, especially the group hug. I saw Cramer Women unity. I am wanting Dorian to be the one to adopt langson1 .

My favorite scenes of last week (May 5th) were Bo and Snoop Dogg (so cool!), the stuff with David Vickers (funny!) and most especially Dorian and Langston. I have a forum on the Diva board that is devoted to the developing relationshp between Dorian and her foster daughter. If you are interested, here is the link to the forum:
Langston's Lair. Right now the focus is on the fake pregnancy storyline.
