Title: "Babylon" Board Updates

"Babylon" by David Gray

Hey, this song worked for me when I was getting ready to do the board update. Listen to it. What does it mean to you?

I posted a column this week that sums up feelings that have culminated over several weeks, really. Mainly, we have seen Dorian and Clint in scenes but it's been pretty negligible. The head writer is no longer writing for them as a couple; imo, the writing has ended for them, though the relationship remains. "Show Me" is the name of the column in the Ride in the Wilderness forum for the week.

What else can I say? For me as a viewer, the Dorian and Langston scenes stole the show! It inspired me to make several banners that I have posted here and on the Diva board following each show, along with daily episode video clips. I wanted to be able to rewatch and be reminded of such excellence in writing and acting that was all heart. There is a thread on this board that captures some thoughts on this storyline: Dorian and Langston.

On a recent hotline.jpg Robin Strasser talks about sharing some feelings, experiences, and reactions with Dorian. When Dorian is confronted with loss and rejection, she shuts down. It is the result, for Dorian, of having been abused as a child. The wall starts to go up as a defense, Strasser describes. If the intense feelings behind it were to be released, there would be a watershed of emotions that would be difficult to stop. It's interesting to watch Dorian as she seems to identify so closely with what Langston feels since similar to Langston, Dorian's parents were supposedly killed in a plane crash when Dorian was 12. (The Labines later made it that Dorian's mother, who killed her father, was alive and recently died.) An angry and hurt Langston accused Dorian of trying to be a do gooder to forget she really is a bitch. Dorian retorted that she has had to be a bitch, having lived through experiences that drove her two sisters to mental institutions.

Speaking of Strasser, if you don't know by now, she is willing to give a OLTL tour to the highest online bidder in an auction (See reply post below for more). This is to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Research Department, where donations go from the Daytime Stars and Strikes Bowling event hosted by Jerry verDorn. That event was on Oct. 7th in NYC and according to verDorn's fan club president, photos from the bowling fundraiser will soon be posted on his fan club website.

Wanna quick Dorian and Clint fix? Meags has written a couple of short stories in the Fan Fiction forum. The titles are: "What Will It Take?" and "Teach Me."

I don't always feature in the "Board Updates" the musical choices that I make in the "Musical Intermission" thread. But I am here. If you have a chance, stop by and listen to Cyndi Lauper's, "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."

That's all for now. Dorian and Clint are expected to be on this week. Take it easy and have a good one!
