Just a short little fic that popped to mind a few days ago.
It’s at La Boulaie; a few days after the authorities find out about Langston, Clint and Dorian are in bed talking about it.

*Langston is italicized
*Dorian is regular
Just Talk.
“Dorian, you’ve got to stop worrying. Everything will work out fine eventually.”
“How can you say that? You have no idea how things are going to turn out. That poor girl could get taken from the town she’s grown up in, where all of her friends are.”
“You don’t know that for sure. Darlin’, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, you meddle too much.”
“I don’t meddle. I care. I always take care of my girls…”
“Yes, but Dorian, Langston isn’t one of your girls.”
“But what if she was?”
“I’m no sure I like that look in your eyes.”
“Hear me out now.”
“Do I have a choice?”
“Very funny, eh, no. I’ll reiterate, what if Langston was one of my girls.”
“You’re not thinking what I think you’re thinking.”
“Depends on what you think I’m thinking.”
“I think you’re thinking about adopting this girl.”
“So what if I am?”
“Darlin’ look at this from all angles, what if she doesn’t want you to adopt her. You really should talk to her about this. Not me.”
“Well, I suppose you’re right. I should talk to her about this. But, why not you?”
“Because it’s none of my business.”
“Do you consider me ‘your business’?”
“Of course I do, you should know that by now.”
“Well then, why isn’t this your business, it will effect you. In the long run that is. Unless I’m mistaken and you don’t plan on sticking around.”
“I plan on sticking around!”
“Then this is your business too!”
“I’m sure if I could even begin to figure out how your brain works it would awe me.”
“Very funny. But really, this is your business.”
“You do realize that this would not be like adopting a small child. She won’t rely on you for things. Other than a place to sleep.”
“I know. I just want to keep her here, where she belongs. Her friends are here. And she has no family to speak of.”
“Dorian, I want you to be sure. I want you both to be sure. I don’t want to see anybody get hurt.”
“No ones going to get hurt. In fact, this will save us all a lot of hurt. You know what. I’m going to go talk to her right now. I’m sure she’s still up; it’s not that late… What are you doing?”
“I’m not letting you up.”
“I realize that, what I want to know is why.”
“You can talk to her tomorrow. Stay here now.”
“Clint, let me go.”
“No.”
“Clint!”
“Fine. Have it your way.”
“I always do.”
“I still say it can wait a few hours.”
“But this way she has plenty of time to think it over and we can talk about it more in the morning if she wants to.”
“I’m not going to be able to convince you otherwise am I?”
“No.”
“That was blunt.”
“I’m a blunt person.”
“No kidding. Do you need back up?”
“No I don’t want her to feel overwhelmed. Now, Let. Go…. Thank you. I’ll be back soon darling.”
“Langston?”
“Oh, hello Ms. Lord.”
“I told you, call me Dorian.”
“Ok… Was there a reason you came in here?”
“Oh, yes. As a matter of fact I had something I would like to discuss as soon as possible.”
“Ok, sounds important… shoot.”
“Well, as you are well aware, there have been some problems concerning your welfare…”
“Yeah, all thanks to Brittany.”
“Yes, well that young lady certainly seems to have very little to do.”
“Other than making mine and Starr’s lives miserable.”
“Yes, there’s that. But I believe I’ve found a solution of sorts. If you are willing that is.”
“Well anything has to be better than being stuck with foster parents.”
“Yes. I do believe that this, solution, will please everyone.”
“Ok, out with it, the suspense is gonna kill me!”
“How would you feel about becoming an honorary Cramer gal?”
“How do you mean?”
“I’d be willing to adopt you.”
“Oh… That’s… I uh, I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t have to say anything just yet. I had a feeling you’d need some time to think this over. You wouldn’t have to change your name or anything foolish like that. But you would live with me until you came of age. That’s not to say you wouldn’t be welcome here for as long as you like and deem necessary.”
“Wow, this is a lot to think about.”
“Well, like I said, take your time. Think this over. My offer will not expire.”
“Thank you Ms…”
“Hem.”
“Dorian. Thank you. You’ve been so great to me. And you didn’t have to do anything.”
“Well, of course I had to do something. I’m not going to stand by ad let someone suffer in silence. Especially not since I know what you’re going through and how hard it is to handle alone. Though, you’ve done a remarkable job so far.”
“Thank you. I’ll sleep on it and let you know tomorrow if I’ve reached a decision?”
“That’s fine. Goodnight darling.”
“Goodnight Dorian.”
“So, how’d it go?”
“I thought it wasn’t any of your business?”
“Haha, very funny. How’d it go?”
“It went quite good.”
“Good, now get back in here and Go. To. Sleep!”
“My, my. Someone’s impatient tonight…”
Just talk. That's a great title for this. Dorian was very direct in what she had to say to Clint and Langston. I especially liked this exchange as they talked:

Great thinking, Clint! Thanks for making me smile, Meags!
