Title: Wednesday 10/17
Description: and it continues
LovesTheDrama - October 17, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
Dorian tells Clint what has been going (Todd, the baby, the kids, Langston) and he says that she was there for him through Jessie's illness and Asa's decline and death. He questions why she didn't want him to be there for her (or something like that). He talks more about being in love with her. She questions who has been filling his head with her shortcoming, wonders if Viki has phoned one in. Then realizes it must be Nora. Clint denies that (even though I saw it happen) and starts to get a little huffy and leave. Dorian stops him with a big, big kiss. kissss.gif

More kissing. Clint breaks it off - lipstick everywhere - and says he knows what it is. He hesitates to bring up the name, but David always kept Dorian guessing and Clint thinks she likes the chase. She admits she'll always have a soft spot in her heart for David, but David is a boy and she wants a man. She starts to kiss him again when the phone rings. Starr is calling because Langston is about to be hauled away by the social services woman.

Dorian tells Starr to stall the SSW. She tells Clint that she has to go, he is understanding (but seems a little hurt - maybe he was hoping to be asked to go with her, but then he wouldn't be there when Nora arrives). Dorian is very happy that Clint is ok with her leaving and says "let yourself out." And he has this odd look (again, I think he's hurt) and say "I always do."

Nora arrives and tells Clint that Dorian is the one that brought Lindsay out of her catatonic state. Clint's response: one more thing Dorian didn't tell me about.
On a side note: the scenes between Talia and Sarah are good, and funny.

Nora asks Clint if it's possible that Dorian is coaching Lindsay. Clint says he has no idea what goes on around there - and adds that he wonders if Dorian needs him at all.
Dorian tries to tell the SSW that she will be caring for Langston. SSW threatens to have Dorian arrested if she interferes. Langston says her goodbyes; Dorian tears up as Langston leaves and Marko puts his hand on Dorian's shoulder. It was very sweet.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to post this live. I caught a glimpse of what was happening while at work and I couldn't wait to watch the show. Clearly Clint is feeling dejected. He opened his heart to Dorian, said that he wanted her to share her burdens with him. She mentioned flying solo and for so many years she has had to be strong and self-sufficient, feeling a responsibility to take care of her girls. Thinking back, I don't recall Dorian has ever really leaned on a man during her times of crisis. Clint wants to share his life with her but she is shutting him out. I'm not sure it is intentional but it has the affect of making a loved one feel useless. And I go back to David. Dorian hasn't gotten over him leaving her at the altar. She once said that she would never get that close to a man ever again. I wonder if her recent actions are to insure her at her word.
That last scene with Langston broke my heart. I am enjoying this story and Dorian and Langston's relationship. Also, I liked the vibe with Talia, Layla and Sarah.

It would have made a lot of sense for Dorian to take Clint with her - who better to help out than the head of Buchanan Enterprises--a man with an exemplary reputation. But I don't think Dorian expected to have a problem with the social worker.
I agree with Clint that he and Dorian are at a place in their togetherness where she should have called to let him know what was going on. I really can't remember Dorian's history on handling crises--whether she chooses to fly solo or not. But I do remember at least two times when she was especially trying to flatter a man (Mel and Clint) where she made a big deal of telling them that she couldn't have made it through a certain sitution without their help. Now, with Clint, it seems as if she's switching gears. It may be the not wanting to care "that much" about a man again.
