Clint at the shareholders' meetingc3.gif should have a stronger presence with the death of Nash and what is happening with Buchanan Enterprises. In other words, I want to see him more regularly interacting with his family. I was thinking the other day that I really liked what Gary Tomlin wrote for Clint with the Buchanan Enterprises takeover; he gave me dark!Clint with more defined personality and sharp edge. From my observation some didn't like the writing for Clint because GT didn't focus on the C/N romance, which you know is not my main interest. Most viewer comments that I read reflected an overwhelmingly
positive notice of the character for the first time since verDorn took over the role. As it relates to the character, GT gave a real focus and energy to Clint when it came to Buchanan Enterprises and in providing significant scenes with Bo where they discussed Asa. Clint seemed to be given a real purpose and was firmly established as patriarch of the clan. I understood his actions and motivation and really importantly, why he was acting more like Asa. I would like to see verDorn given more material to work with again now that Dorian has stirred the hornet's nest and stolen his father's company. And too, he has been betrayed by Natalie, lost Nash and will soon discover the identity of his brother. It is my desire that for once we get to hear Clint's thoughts and even his feelings. His scene with nash02.jpg in the hospital was very brief; we have seen more of Sarah's reaction to Nash's death and Clint arguably was like a father to the young man. Clint will no doubt be seen at Nash's funeral and I hope the history between the two is highlighted in terms of Nash's importance in Clint's life beyond being his son-in-law. As a fan of both characters, I enjoyed their relationship. I know that today (Monday) Clint will be on along with Nora, Bo and Dorian, according to the previews shown on Friday. Don't know what will happen, but while all of this is going on at BE, I want more introspection from the character so as to further understanding of what is going on with him and to establish a stronger identity for Clint. Despite this being a couple's board, I have always been vocal that not enough time was spent on building the identity of the character separate from his latest romance. We got a lot of character focus with Bo and Clint when Tomlin was writing. I would like to see more with Ron Carlivati, who I know is more than capable of writing it. Show me. Don't tell me.
ETA: Haven't seen all of this week's episodes but from what I have seen, RC is definitely headed in the right direction when it comes to the writing of Clint and making him more like Asa. More please! sunset.jpg 6.20.08
