Miss A Little, Miss A Lot
I have been out of town and didn't have the opportunity to catch up on OLTL episodes until yesterday. I'm not really sure when these shows aired but they caught my attention!Dorian and LangstonDorian is such a bitch but underneath it all there is a vulnerability that Dorian reveals comfortably with Langston, who has become the closest thing to a daughter to Dorian. In fact, Dorian seems to have garnered Langston's respect in a way her daughters have not. What I enjoy about their scenes is that they seem to listen to each other even in disagreement. The scenes between these two took place in Dorian's bedroom. Dorian had just offered the Cramer women seats on the Board of Cramer Enterprises, which they declined. In addition, Adriana had just made it clear that she no longer wants anything more to do with her mother. Langston brought the CE display, which had the images of the Cramer women, into the bedroom. Dorian said that she was profoundly disappointed that
her girls had turned their backs on her. Langston told her that she pushed too hard, interfered in their lives and the Cramer women don't like being told what to do. Dorian told Langston that she tries so hard because she didn't have anyone there for her much of her life and she had a lot of responsibility in caring for her two sisters, who are mentally disturbed. Langston responded the Cramers are fortunate to have Dorian in their lives and that she should allow them the freedom to make mistakes. Dorian's been told this many times. But somehow it seemed different coming from Langston and Dorian seemed to genuinely listen. Langston reassured Dorian that she will not leave her; Dorian helped Langston face the death of her parents and she took her into her home. Langston is not likely to forget it.
Dorian and Langston6.9.08 episodeNatalie and ClintWhere to begin? Let me say up front that Natalie shouldn't have kept the secret from her dad that Jared was a fraud and that David Vickers is the true Buchanan heir. Yet had she told Clint about Jared, we wouldn't have this terrific BE story that not only splintered off into other subplots but displayed new developments in the relationship between Clint and his only biological daughter. In many ways, Clint and Natalie have a lot of Asa's ways. They are both proud and steadfast when it comes to getting their way, no matter who stands in their way. Clint is focused on getting back BE and Natalie wants to protect Jared--so much so she told her father she would only reveal the real Buchanan heir if Clint signed an agreement not to file criminal or civil charges against her boyfriend. Clint called her a Judas. He was angry with her and angrier still at learning David Vickers is his brother. Spoilers hint that Clint will soon contemplate specific action on the Vickers front to use in his quest to get back BE. What stood out for me in the confrontation between Natalie and Clint is Natalie telling her dad that he bore some responsibility for unleashing Dorian on the family because of his mistreatment of Dorian. I cheered! That's an AMEN from me! I am glad
someone noticed, namely the writer through the dialogue of the character. Dorian did not deserve to have Clint cheat on her,
first, which provoked her action in sleeping with David. The whole thing is a mess, a BIG soapy mess and Clint is caught in the middle of it all with Jessica and Natalie, as well. Fun times they are a callin' with good soap watching! And, Clint sure is reminding me of his Pa. sunset.jpg
Clint and NatalieStephen Markle Returns as Mel HayesOn Monday, June 30, Stephen Markle will appear as Mel Hayes on OLTL.
(Edited on 7.2.08 to indicate Mel appeared as a "spirit" and there was no Markle.) Markle is amongst many stars who will return for the 40th anniversary celebration for the soap, which will air special shows on July 21-22 to mark the occasion. According to spoilers, the presumed dead Mel will visit Dorian as a spirit later this month but in the body of Markle.
(NOTE: He is presumed dead because his plane went down in the Bahamas but no body was ever found.) I don't mind saying that I cried beaucoup tears when shows aired surrounding Mel's death and was angry at the time by the firing of this talented actor. It has been almost 10 years since Markle has been on OLTL and I am very, very excited about his appearance! He has a special rapport with Robin Strasser and Mel has a no nonsense way of getting to the heart of the matter when it comes to Dorian. Welcome home, Stephen.
